Dr. Alan Penrose
Dr. Alan Penrose is in his fifth year as the principal of Turner High School. Before coming to Turner, he was an administrator in the North Kansas City School District and Dean of Students at Northwest Middle School in USD 500. Alan's first teaching job was with high risk inmates at the Lansing Correctional Facility. He taught high school business at Don Bosco Charter High School and Winnetonka High School followed by Language Arts at Antioch Middle School. Alan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Pittsburg State University, a Master of Education from Rockhurst University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University. Prior to his career in education, Alan worked in television news as a photographer and reporter.
In his spare time, Dr. Penrose enjoys spending time with is family and coaching his kids' sports teams.

Dr. Frankie Lizar
Dr. Frankie Lizar is an assistant principal and Freshman Academy administrator. Prior to becoming a proud Golden Bear in the fall of 2012, Frankie was an assistant high school principal in southwest Kansas and she also served as an instructional coach and English teacher at the middle school and high school levels. Frankie graduated with a bachelor's degree in English, two master's degrees in Education with an emphasis in teaching English as a second language with administration, and specialist in educational leadership. She is currently working on her educational doctorate. Frankie prides herself in being a Washburn Ichabod, an Emporia Hornet, a Pittsburg Gorilla, and now an Arkansas Razorback.

Steve St. Louis
Mr. Steve St. Louis is the Associate Principal. Before coming to Turner he was the Director of Special Education in North Kansas City and a building principal for 15 years prior to that. He is a University of Missouri-Columbia grad with a degree in Special Education. He earned his Master's and Ed Specialist degrees in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has held many roles in his career, serving as a high school Special Education Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and the Director of Special Education. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife Allison, their six kids, and grandson.

Rick Byers
Mr. Rick Byers is the Athletic Director and head football coach for Turner High School. Byers has been one of the top coaches in the Kansas City metro area for more than two decades. He was at St. Pius X from 1987 to 2020. After a stretch as an assistant, he became the head coach in 1995 and led the Warriors to three state championships (1998, 2000, 2002), a state runner-up finish (1999), and a state quarterfinal appearance (2001). Additionally, his teams won 10 district titles and a number of conference championships. A graduate of Paola High School in Kansas, he played football one season at Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College and then three seasons at Pittsburg State (Kan.) University. Byers earned several Coach of the Year awards, including the 2001 Cecil Patterson and 1999 Kansas City Star and Kansas City Chiefs honors. Byers was also named the Class 2 Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2000. Byers also served as Pius’ athletic director for years. This is his first year at Turner High School.

Alex Supple
Mrs. Alex Supple is an assistant principal at Turner High School. Alex is working on her Doctor of Education at the University of Kansas and holds a Master of Arts in School Leadership from Benedictine College and a Bachelor of English from the University of Saint Mary. She previously worked in Atchison Public Schools as an ELA teacher while coaching at both the middle and high school levels and serving on several committees. Outside of school, Alex loves to spend time with her husband and daughter and to travel as often as possible.
