ELECTRONIC SCHOOL BOARD

The Turner School District utilizes Electronic School Board (ESB) for Board of Education Meeting agendas, minutes, and Board policies. These items are available to the public and can be accessed through the public access link below.

Public COMMENT

The Board appreciates patrons taking time to talk to us about Turner USD 202 policies and procedures.  At each regular school board meeting, the Board of Education sets aside a limited part of the agenda to hear the concerns and problems expressed by members of the school community. The Board of Education uses the public comment portion of the agenda as an opportunity to listen and receive information from the public, but not to debate issues or enter into a question and answer session.

  • Individuals interested in providing public comment during a regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting will need to complete a Yellow Card at the board meeting indicating their name, address, phone number, and brief description of the issue being presented to the Board.  Yellow Cards must be presented to the Board Clerk prior to 6:30pm on the day of the Board Meeting.
  • During the public comment portion of the meeting, the Board President will call each individual speaker to the podium in the order Yellow Cards were received.
    • The time for each individual to express their concern is limited to three minutes or less.  The Board wants to provide you an opportunity to speak, but asks that you be brief and to the point in your comments.
    • Speakers may submit written information to support their commentary.
    • All comments should be directed toward board policies or the procedures administrators establish to carry out these policies. This is not an appropriate time or place for patrons to make comments of a personal nature regarding district employees or anyone else.  Persons making comments that violate the privacy rights of district employees will be asked to terminate their remarks.

Public Hearing

The Board may hold public hearings before taking action in regard to the changing of attendance center boundaries, the holding of bond elections, capital outlay levy elections, elections to increase the tax levy or budget, and all other matters which the board deems appropriate.  Public hearings will be held at a convenient time and a suitable place which is believed to be adequate and comfortable for the audience.  The Board of Education uses the public comment portion of hearings as an opportunity to listen and receive information from the public, but not to debate issues or enter into a question and answer session.

  • Individuals interested in providing public comment during a public hearing will need to complete a Yellow Card at the hearing indicating their name, address, phone number, and brief description of the issue being presented to the Board.  Yellow Cards must be presented to the Board Clerk prior to the start of the public hearing.
