turner parents as teachers

Nurturing relationships between children and their parents is key to providing a strong foundation for healthy growth and development. Cultivating these bonds is at the core of our Parents at Teachers (PAT) program.

Our Parent Educators inform, support, and encourage parents through an evidence and research based program. Fun activities are introduced that will foster learning and nurture your child's development while positive discipline, new techniques for problem solving, realistic expectations of child behavior, and ways to raise children's self-esteem are discussed.

The Parents as Teacher Program (PAT) is available to families that are expecting a baby or have a child between birth to four years of age at no cost.

PERSONAL VISITS

Certified parent educators, trained in child development, visit the family's home twice a month for an hour. They address any parenting concerns that you may have and help you understand what to expect as YOUR child grows. Visit times are flexible so that all families can participate and both English and Spanish speaking certified parent educators are available.

GROUP CONNECTIONS

Services, which include parent/child activities, play-groups, screenings, and parenting classes, are for families enrolled in home-based and center-based Parents as Teachers.

community resources

PAT helps families link to extra services, if needed and wanted, that are beyond the scope of Parents as Teachers.

supporting care providers

Voluntary free program for home child care providers. Providers are offered curriculum, aligned with PAT, to gain child development knowledge, activities, discipline strategies, health, safety and nutrition. Offered in Spanish and English.
