Goals & Objectives
The board, through annual meetings with the superintendent and designated staff, reviews progress on the implementation of priorities, initiatives, and long-range plans. The board may also consider and act upon objectives and major activities proposed by the superintendent to achieve long-range goals
The board may hold public hearings before taking action in regard to the changing of attendance center boundaries, the holding of bond elections, capital outlay levy elections, elections to increase the tax levy or budget, and all other matters which the board deems appropriate. Public hearings will be held at a convenient time and a suitable place which is believed to be adequate and comfortable for the audience.
The general public is invited to attend all board meetings, except executive sessions. Any patron wishing to appear on the agenda must first notify the superintendent seven days prior to the meeting and state the reason(s) for the request. The superintendent will determine whether said request can be solved by the staff without appearance of the patron before the board. If not, the patron's request will be placed on the agenda of the next regular board meeting. See board policy BCBI-R Public Participation for complete rules and details.
