Meet Turner's New Board of Education Member

Introducing Kay Stone, Board of Education Member

Introducing Kay Stone, our newest Turner USD 202 Board of Education member. Kay was officially sworn in at the January Board of Education meeting.

Being a Turner graduate herself, she returned to the community in 1994 when her children began attending Oak Grove Elementary and has remained an active part of the community ever since. “Turner is a great community because the community supports each other during good and bad times.” She describes Turner as a “small town in a big city.”

Before being elected to the Board, Kay served Turner USD 202 for 26 years as a school nurse.

"I feel that Turner is a great place to go to school because our schools are small enough that students get special attention if needed, but big enough to offer opportunities to our students."

Kay chose to serve on the Board of Education as a way to continue giving back her community. “I made the decision to be on the Board of Education for Turner because I still want to be involved with the school district and our students and thought this was the best way to contribute to the community,” she shared.

Ultimately, her desire is to "make sure the students and staff feel supported."
