We’re highlighting two upcoming projects that the community can plan to see beginnings of construction on in the coming months.
As part of the Operations area within Turner USD 202’s Strategic Plan, the district continues to make thoughtful investments in facilities and infrastructure that support students, staff, and long-term growth. We’re highlighting two upcoming projects that the community can plan to see beginnings of construction on in the coming months. Please note the pictures included are sample renderings.
Upgraded Weight Room at Turner High School
Student athletes were thrilled to learn that they’re getting a new weight room at Turner High School, located on the back side of the building near the Turner Aquatics Center. The space is being thoughtfully designed with input from a group of secondary coaches and physical education teachers to ensure it meets the needs of student-athletes and physical education programs. This addition will enhance training opportunities, support student wellness, and provide updated equipment and space for strength and conditioning programs across multiple sports and classes.

Staff Childcare Center at Turner Middle School
Plans are underway to open a staff childcare center in an unused portion of Turner Middle School near the auditorium. The center will serve children of USD 202 staff members and is expected to open by August 2027. This initiative is designed to support recruitment and retention of high-quality staff. We hope it will create district employment opportunities for community members who may have been unable to work due to childcare needs. The program will operate in partnership with the Turner Early Childhood Program. The center will be led by Kristin Henry, a former Turner teacher with childcare experience, and it will be partially staffed by high school students in the Early Childhood pathway, further expanding Real World Learning opportunities.
