Each year, our Turner Board of Education recognizes one classified and one certified staff member for the "Turner Points of Light." The recipients of a Turner Points of Light award will be individuals who have shown great enthusiasm and vision for the students in USD 202 and has exhibited this through his/her dedication and deep commitment to these students. The award is given during Convocation at the beginning of the school year.

Congratulations to our Classified Point of Light for 2025, James Glick! Mr. Glick is a bus driver for USD 202. Below is his nomination statement from a student.

"I would like to nominate James, the bus driver for Bus 17. He is very supportive of our sports teams and watches every game he drives to. He helps to make sure all of our stuff is taken and if we forget items he goes out of his way to get it to us, catching up and saying, 'hey, I think you'll need this!' James goes out to the bleachers with his comfy sitting chair and doesn't just sit and watch, he cheers us on telling us, 'you got this!' He always stays until the end of the game. He cheers everyone on. One time, he even bought hot chocolate for anyone who wanted it during a soccer game because it was cold. I was shocked that he would pay for everyone, he had me ask all of my teammates and he bought hot chocolate until all the cups were gone. He always tells us about when our other teams are playing and tells us to go cheer on other sports. I wanted to nominate him because he really does care about us."
