Congratulations to our Classified Point of Light for 2024, Adriana Zaragoza! Ms. Zaragoza is a Special Education Paraprofessional at Midland Trail Elementary. Below is her nomination letter.
I am writing to express appreciation and admiration for my para, and her exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to the students she works with. Her remarkable efforts go above and beyond what is expected, and the positive impact she has on our students is truly commendable. Nena's creativity and thoughtfulness shine through in every action she takes. From creating inclusive bulletin boards, and art projects for the students, making eclipse goody bags, and bringing in fun toys and games from thrift stores she knows the kids would enjoy, she constantly finds ways to engage and delight our students. Her hand-drawn cards, especially during times of illness, provide comfort and support when they need it most. Her willingness to go the extra mile, such as accompanying me on hospital visits for our students and their families and attending birthday parties during the summer, exemplifies her genuine care and concern for their well-being. Its evident that she has formed deep connections with our students, as they eagerly call out Nena, Nena, Nena and look to her for guidance, support, and plain fun. In the classroom, her presence is truly invaluable. Her energy, enthusiasm, and genuine love for our students creates an environment where they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive. She embodies the essence of what it means to be a dedicated educator, and her contributions do not go unnoticed. On behalf of the entire Life Skills classroom, I want to thank you for your tireless efforts and selfless dedication to our students. You are an inspiration to us all, and we are incredibly fortunate to have you as part of our team.

For Nena, Leo every day mentions Nena and Nena is a very good person and very kind. If Nena doesn't go to work one day he comes home almost crying, saying mom Nena didn't go to work. He says Nena is my mom and we love Nena so very much because she see/treats all the children the same. Thank you very much Nena for helping the children.
