Congratulations to Addison Devine and Kristi Chambers, THS Claw Crew sponsors and physical education teachers.

Each year, our Turner Board of Education recognizes classified and certified staff members for the "Turner Points of Light." The recipients of a Turner Points of Light award will be individuals who have shown great enthusiasm and vision for the students in USD 202 and has exhibited this through his/her dedication and deep commitment to these students. The award is given during Convocation at the beginning of the school year.

Below is an excerpt from their nomination letter.

"We would like to formally recognize Ms. Devine and Ms. Chambers for their role in the creation of the Claw Crew at Turner High School. This club has completely reshaped the culture at Turner High School. Through all the different pep clubs, sporting events, pep assemblies, they have created an inclusive environment where every athlete and student can come together as a family and cheer on their classmates.

There has been nothing more exciting than seeing all our Turner family come together to support one another.

This club has not only brought our kids together to support other athletes, but it has also directly impacted how our students participate in games. They are proud to put their Turner high school uniforms, they feel passionate and truly care about the school they represent. Every person that has been to a sporting event has noticed the direct impact that Ms. Devine and Ms. Champers have made here at the high school. From themed sporting events and more student participation than the last ten years combined. There is nothing that makes a coach prouder than seeing the entire school rally behind their teams.

This one group has shown ripple effects across the entire building and even into our middle school. They continue to build and change the culture... As the head coaches here at Turner High School, seeing a crowd full of students has been one of our favorite memories."
