Administration

Dr. Rena Duewel is in her 25th year of education and 18th year in Turner. She serves as the building principal at Journey School of Choice and the District Coordinator of Professional Learning. Rena is a Turner High School graduate and is very proud of that. She began her college experience at Kansas City Kansas Community College, married the love of her life and transferred to Longview Community College to complete the requirements for an Associate of Arts degree. She graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene College (now University) with a Bachelor of Arts, University of Kansas with a Master of Science, Fort Hays State University with a building leadership Pre-K – 12 endorsement, Pittsburg State University with a Specialist degree in district leadership, and the University of Arkansas with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She has been a teacher in grades 6-12, an instructional coach, school club sponsor, and administrator at the middle and high school levels. When she is not at work, she loves spending time with her husband, Nate, of 30 years and their 4 amazing children.
